Day 3-We went and checked on her this evening after she had the echo cardiogram and the ultra sound of the head. They told us that Patent Ductus Arteriosus(PDA) did not close so they are giving Miranda the medicine that will hopeful close the PDA. We won't know the results of the ultra sound of the head for awhile. Her blood sugar is back up and her blood gases are doing good. They are backing down the oscillator. They gave Miranda some medicine to help calm her down, she is active little girl. The nurses say her kidneys are working well because she is peeing like a race horse. Another thing is Miranda is starting to have a bowel movement, which is a good thing because the bowels are the last thing to develop. The nurses also said that Audrey and Mike will be able to hold Miranda in a few days when she comes off the oscillator. Audrey is so excited and ready to hold her precious little angel. The nurse said they took Miranda off the dopamine drip last night, her blood pressure is doing good so far. Miranda is still under the bili lights to help with the bruising. Miranda's bili level is good at this time. The nurse reported that Miranda's head ultra sound was good and no bleeding was seen. They do another head ultra sound on day 7.
