Day12- Miranda had ultra sound of her head tonight. Audrey and Michael found out this afternoon that the ultra sound of the head showed no bleeding. YEAH!! Miranda now weighs 1lb 7oz. The doctors are still watching her lungs. They had to place Miranda on the oscillator around 2:00 p.m. today because of her blood gases and her lungs. Miranda was fighting the oscillator a little but she has settled down. The doctors are also listening for bowel sounds and measuring her abdomen. Miranda is going to have surgery on Friday to close her PDA. Audrey said they will perform the surgery in Miranda's room. Audrey says that Miranda does not like anybody to talk, touch or have the lights on in her room. Miranda likes the quiet and dark. Because she drops her O2 sat when somebody is talking to loud or touching her and she started this today after being placed on the oscillator. So please keep Miranda in your thoughts and prayers.

  1. For the longest time, Olivia hated lights, sounds, anything! Many days, I just spent my time at her bedside with the cover over her isolette. But, that's what she needed and that's what babies at her gestational age should have. It just gives them time to relax and regroup in order to fight this big fight. What amazing fighters they are! You're doing great, Miranda! Everyone is so proud of you!
